Broward County Southwest Region Library 5th Annual Teen Volunteer Expo

Saturday, September 25, from 10am to 12pm. Our purpose is to connect motivated high school students with community organizations which can provide valuable life experience to young people and help inspire volunteerism as a lifelong commitment.  Last year we had 35 organizations involved in the event.  Please contact Lynn Morrison at 954-538-9956 Ext. 242 for more information.  

SeaFarers ShoeBox Christmas

International Pediatric Hippotherapy

Organization provides physical therapy on horse back for children with disabilities.  Looking for students as part of the hippo-therapy team. We provide a short orientation before any new member joins a team.  At farm near the corner of  Griffin Road and Flamingo Blvd. The therapy sessions take place every Saturday morning from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.   Please contact:  Jorge H Gonzalez  Cell (305) 793-1604

Cooper City Animal Clinic

We offer hours for high school students.  Either helping with the dogs in the kennel, or fostering dogs or cats at home.  Located at 9600 Griffin Road, SE corner of Palm Avenue and Griffin.  Contact Pat or Rachel at 954 434-6166

Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Program

Student Assistant Volunteers (SAV)

CCHS students can earn community service hours by volunteering through the Student Assistant Volunteer Program.  Volunteers assist staff during No School Camp Days and Summer Camp.  Volunteers are required to complete an application and interview with staff prior to assignment.  Applications are available at the Cooper City Community Center, located at 9000 SW 50 Place.

Memorial Hospital West

Volunteers for information desk, transporters, wayfinders, clerical and reading program.  Located at 703 N Flamingo Road, Pembroke Pines.  Contact Volunteer Coordinator at 954-436-5000.

Humane Society of Broward County
