Community Based Instruction at Cooper City High School is taught within 4 main instructional domains: Vocational, Domestic, Life Skills, and Recreational/Leisure skills. Our students benefit from hands-on interaction with places in the community while learning skills that help them transition from high school to their desired post-school outcome. It is imperitive that our students feel a sense of community while emulating daily living activities they will take part in after high school. We include transportation training with the Cooper City Shuttle to reach places such as Publix, Walmart, various restaraunts, the Cooper City Pool and Tennis Center, and other businesses on the shuttle route. Our students love recreational activities such as bowling, mini-golf, swimming, going to the park, movies, etc. This year, we have begun enrolling in a few community classes held at facilities such as the Cooper City Pool and Tennis Center, JCC, or the Cooper City Rec. Center.
