Fine Arts/Music

The Fine Arts Department has a diverse curriculum for students. Drama, Band, Chorus, TV Production, Pottery, Photography and 3D Art are some of the classes offered at CCHS.  With extremely dedicated and experienced teachers in their field, the Fine Arts department have won many awards in local, state and national level.

 

ALFREDO PICHARDO - TV Production Advisor

Mr. Pichardo has worked in the Television industry for 22 years prior to joining our staff 3 years ago. His Advance class CTV, has won numerous awards at district, state and national levels. He graduated from Florida State University, School of Communications in 1988. He is activily the 2011 Class Sponsor and an active member of CCHS extra curricular activities.

CHRISTOPHER SCHLETTER - Director of Bands
christopher.schletter@browardschools.com 
Christopher J. Schletter is a 1993 graduate of Seminole High School in Seminole, Florida.  After discovering his love of music and the musical activities, he started his college career at Troy State University in Troy, Al. and then transferred to the University of South Florida in Tampa to pursued a degree in music education.  Between his years at U.S.F, Christopher participated as a member of the Cadets of Bergen County Drum and Bugle Corps in the summers of ’94, ’95, and ’96 where the Cadets placed in the top three in the world all three years.  After his aging out of the activity in ’96, Mr. Schletter went on to be a brass instructor with the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in ’98 and ’99, Magic of Orlando in ’02 and ’03, and Boston Crusaders ’04 – ’06, helping each of these corps place in the top 12 in the world each year.  After graduating from U.S.F. in the Spring of 2000, Christopher joined the Broadway show Blast! and performed with the company for two years in various cities throughout the country, on Broadway in New York, and at Disney Land in California.  After leaving the cast in April of 2002, Christopher came back to his home town to teach a few local bands and then received an opportunity to move down to south Florida where he was appointed Director of Bands at Charles W. Flanagan High School in the Spring of 2003.  After growing as a director for 3 years Mr. Schletter decided it was time for new experiences and made his move to Cooper City High School where he is currently in his 2nd year as the Director of Bands.
